Paint Correction FAQs

WHAT IS PAINT CORRECTION?

Paint correction is the removal of the clear coat on top of your paint removing defects such as swirl marks and scratches. It can turn your car back to showroom condition leaving your car perfect with mirror finish.

WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN POLISHING AND PAINT CUTTING?

Polishing enhances the current paint with more of a gloss and less cutting. Cutting is more correcting than gloss intended to remove more swirl marks/scratches. If doing a deep paint correction it’s always started with a cutting as a more aggressive approach then top it off with a polish for that gloss finish.

WHY IS THE PRE WASH PROCESS IMPORTANT BEFORE PAINT CORRECTION?

If you do not properly take off all contaminants off the paint in the prewash, when starting to correct the paint you will push all the dirt and contaminants in the paint leaving it harder to remove the dirt, scratching the car more, and damaging the pad of the tool.

HOW TO PROTECT THE PAINT AFTER CORRECTING?

It is always recommended to protect the paint after correcting or else it will turn back to how it was, leaving it harder and more expensive on your side as there will be less clear coat to cut. Our protection packages on paint and windows are ceramic coating or Paint protection film.

HOW ARE PAINT CORRECTION PRICED?

Paint corrections are priced by how long and skilled the paint correction will need. Typically measured by different of paint (soft or hard), color of paint(darker color needs more work as it is more visible in light), size of the vehicle as there is more space to work on for SUV+, and how damaged the paint is.
